Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture. The participation, enjoyment and skill development of our students is the corner-stone of the school sport/ physical activity program. All our students take part in this program. There are also opportunities to represent our school at inter-school sports competitions. As a NSW public school we benefit from the opportunities for shared activities and competitions with other schools, coordinated by school sport associations.
All students from years 7-11 participate in compulsory sport / physical activity on a weekly basis and are required to be prepared in their sport uniform. The Tempe High School Sport uniform consists of the school's sport shirt available where they get their school uniforms. Along with this they must wear either the school sport shorts or track pants or plain black sport shorts or track pants, along with appropriate sport shoes. Years 7 & 8 wear their sport uniform to school all day on Tuesdays for grade sport. For all other integrated sport and PE lessons, students are required to wear full school uniform for all other lessons and change into their sport uniform before and after their practical lessons.
